La oveja raza Pelibuey, es originaria de Africa Occidental y se ha difundido en América, principalmente en las Antillas, su característica principal es que está cubierta de pelo y no de lana como las criollas, son animales rústicos, adaptados a los climas calientes y semiáridos como el de El Salvador. Como objetivo general proporciona una guía que permita conocer los aspectos técnicos relacionados a la explotación de ovejas Pelibuey, y dentro de los objetivos específicos están: proveer un conocimiento claro sobre técnica de manejo y oportunidades de mercado de la oveja Pelibuey, y el otro cuantificar la inversión y funcionamiento del proyecto para medir su factibilidad técnica y económica.
